The European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life, gender mainstreaming and active measures to promote women

The European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life is a strong instrument for the enhancement of equality between the sexes. In combination with individual GAPs (Gender Equality Action Plans) signatories of the charter showed at the conference how equality touches every single aspect of daily life of women and men. The conference offered good practice examples from various European cities and regions.
